BASES ASUFICC LAB

Project lab

ASUFICCLAB is a project development laboratory, which will be held online within the framework of the 1st ASUFICC - Asunción International Contemporary Film Festival, to be held from September 7 to 11, 2021. Its objective is to promote development and production of Paraguayan cinematographic works, in order to provide tools that allow to creatively consolidate a project.

In this first edition, the laboratory is aimed at filmmakers from all over the country with a feature film project in development. Each selected project will participate in the workshop for four days, in which aspects related to the idea, point of view, characters, etc. will be worked on.

Up to six projects will be selected. The format of the laboratory this year will be online, attending to the health emergency and allowing access to participants from all over the country who, faced with this situation, cannot travel to Asunción.

1. METHODOLOGY

The laboratory will last 4 days, from September 7 to 10, 2021, within the framework of ASUFICC. The directors of the selected projects will receive a tutorial in the artistic area, working on aspects related to the idea, the point of view, the characters, etc.

The laboratory is proposed as a space to promote projects, from the search for a sensitive / singular sense that dares the idea, to the elaboration of gestures and procedures that lead to the realization and understanding of the work in its entirety.

This inquiry is proposed not only from a thematic place but also seeking to create images, sounds and forms that challenge the normative and standardized.

goals

That the participants achieve:

- Investigate the senses / problems that his work addresses.
- Understand the strengths and weaknesses in the state of the process.
- Delve into the aesthetic / ethical possibilities of the work and conceptualize them in a "Proposal".
- Create a singularity around an approach located from one's own territory.

The projects will be shared at the group level, so it is essential that the participants agree to make their projects known to the rest of the selected ones, also generating feedback with the different points of view of the whole group.
